โ when a house is both hungry and awake, every room becomes a mouth ...
โ โ it may grow angry. It's basement may fill with churning acid like an empty stomach. And its gorge may rise as it asks itself, through clenched teeth, "what did I do wrong?" (...) โ
and if we were to dissect a house, we would find ourselves a stomach throat spine and eyes and teeth and sinew and dreams and memories and a mouth that will bite down.

Born to a Mid Eastern mother and an Eldian father, Lyanna grew up in Liberio and became a soldier in service of Marley from an early age. She was gathered and trained as a potential candidate for the Warrior Unit. Roughly halfway through her military training, Lyanna became infatuated with gathering information considering the true nature of Titans and their connection with the Eldian people. She joined the organisation of Titan Biology Research Society and became a researcher primarily because of her curiosity, exceeding expectations in her male-dominated field. As of her past, the Aarvik family has a long and dark history of involvement with the Eldian Empire, dating back even before the fall of Eldia in the Great Titan War. Lyanna's ancestor, an Eldian named Svarog Aarvik, was once a powerful member of the Eldian royal court, and was known to be a cruel and corrupt man who used his position to oppress other races and cause internal conflicts between the families with the power of the Titans. As a result of Svarog's immunity and contribution to the internal national conflicts, the Eldian Empire was eventually destroyed, but not before he was able to pass down his legacy to his descendants.Lyanna's father, Daryo Aarvik, was a direct descendant of Svarog and grew up hearing stories of his ancestor's crimes. Daryo was ashamed of his family's history and did his best to raise Lyanna in a way that would distance her from her family's dark past. Despite being an Eldian, her father being a high-ranking official in the Marleyan military, held a strict loyalty to Marley and despised the Eldian culture, insisting that his daughter adopt the Marleyan ways.Because of her father's beliefs, Lyanna was taught to believe that Eldians were naturally corrupt and inferior to her Marleyan peers, and she grew up with a deep-seated sense of self-loathing. This led her to view her Eldian heritage as a stain on her otherwise quite comfortable life, and she did everything she could to distance herself from it.Despite these struggles, Lyanna remained dedicated to her research, and as she dove deeper into her studies, she discovered that the Eldians' abilities were far more complex and nuanced than she had ever imagined. This sparked a newfound fascination within her, and she began to embrace her Eldian heritage as she sought to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Titans. However, as she delved deeper into her research, she began to uncover dark, horrifying truths about the Marleyan government and its treatment of the Eldians. This led her to question everything she had been taught to believe, and she began to see the Marleyans' treatment of the Eldians as nothing short of barbaric and inhumane.Confronted with this reality, Lyanna found herself increasingly drawn to her people's struggle for freedom and equality, and she began to consider using her knowledge and skills to aid their struggle for freedom and independence. Despite this newfound resolve, Lyanna had a hard time to reconcile her desire to help the Eldians with her fear of her family's reaction. She knew that if her father ever discovered her true loyalties, he would likely turn her over to the Marleyan government. As such, she was forced to keep her true allegiance a secret, even as she continued to work towards the truth through her research.
#PersonalityEver-skeptical Lyanna always prefers to make her own discoveries. She prides herself on her ability to think for herself, with an uncanny knack for seeing right through phoniness and hypocrisy. Because her mind is never at rest, she tends to struggle to find people who can keep up with her nonstop analysis of everything around her.
Having a strong independent streak, Lyanna doesnโt mind acting alone, perhaps because she doesnโt like waiting around for others to catch up with her. She also generally prefers making decisions without asking for anyone elseโs input. At times, this lone-wolf behavior can come across as insensitive, as it fails to take into consideration other peopleโs thoughts, desires, and plans. It would be a mistake, however, to view her as uncaring. When things go wrong or when she hurts others, Lyanna feels deeply and is personally affected and spends much time and energy trying to figure out why things happened the way that they did. She may not always value emotion as a decision-making tool, but she is authentically human, being both the boldest of dreamers and the bitterest of pessimists.
Lyanna can appear single-minded, with little patience for frivolity, distractions, or idle gossip. That said, she's far from dull or humorless. She in fact has an irreverent wit, and beneath her serious exterior, she often has a sharp, delightfully sarcastic sense of humor.
